MORE DURABLE GREEN STRENGTHS

While
refractories are recognized as the strength of the green sand
system, it is the bonding clays that facilitate form and function.
Selectively mined for their unique physical and chemical properties,
TRUBOND clays are the essential glues which hold the green
sand system together.
TRUBOND efficiently integrates water into its lattice to
develop a stronger bond without excessive energy requirements
or muller retention time. This sodium dominant clay undergoes
a controlled hydration that produces a stronger, more elastic
adhesive with green compression strengths that are up to 50%
greater than activated clays. TRUBOND molding properties are
achieved with a thinner bond, which flows and coats more efficiently,
is less prone to spring-back upon pattern release and offers
the collateral advantage of greater permeability.
TRUBOND
is also well suited for the rigors of automated high pressure
molding and pouring lines. TRUBOND exhibits an extraordinary
ability to retain its working bond during prolonged exposure
to high heat loads, a critical attribute for foundries operating
with high melt and pouring temperatures or with low sand to
metal ratios. This increased working bond combined with high
compressive strength and high dry strength produces a less
friable sand, dramatically reducing the potential for inclusions,
erosion or scabbing.
